Los Angeles Bathroom Remodeling

The investment you make in remodeling your bathroom could return some of that cost. The Remodeling magazine has statistics for the United States based upon location and type of remodeling project.

Small and enclosed doesn’t have to make you feel crowded and agitated. Above all, your home furnishings should bring a sense of calm and serenity. This includes in the bathroom where you will shed your days stress under steamy showers or relaxing bathwater and let everything else go down the drain. I’m so glad you like it! It’s called San Marco Viva Linen and was available from most of the flooring stores in my city when I was looking!

Remember that it’s easy to make the opening smaller by using furring, but it can be an ugly task to make it bigger. When going with mortar-grouted panels, figure each block is 8 in. wide, then add 1/4 in. to …

Read This Before You Finish Your Basement

This article contains some real how to information! not just a bunch of text to get you to click on links. I will give you some real practical advice on how to clean up and repair water damage whether it be from a flood, plumbing leak, or roof leak. First off you need to stop the water! If it is a leak in your plumbing you will probably have to shut the water main off at the street (or pressure tank if you are on a well). If the water is coming from roof damage a tarp will normally work for a quick fix. If it’s from a flood you will need sandbags to try to divert the water away from the house. This will only work for small flooding areas. In a big flood you will just have to wait it out.

Do you know how many cans it …

Designing Wet Rooms For Small Spaces (2)

We’re still putzing along with our little bathroom renovation, moving at the speed of almost-frozen molasses. For this post, I’m going to take you back in time (November) to where we installed the tile flooring, which has surprisingly been the easiest part of this whole adventure thus far (but certainly not without it’s own set of issues).

So you’re ready to redecorate and redesign your bathroom. But dropping $20,000 on a deluxe spa retreat is light years away from what you can afford to spend. Here’s the good news: You don’t need mega-bucks to transform your bathroom into a relaxing, cool space. There are plenty of ways to renovate and redesign on a budget. A room-size area rug should have a 9 to 12 inch border of floor showing between the rug and the wall.

As is my normal practice before assembling enclosed wall shelves, I painted the back wall …

Remodeling Our Bungalow

Nothing beats the classic look of a spiral staircase. It adds elegance to any interior, and has the added benefit of saving space. Whether the staircase you prefer is a true spiral staircase or just gently curved, whether it is made from metal or oak, it will add grace and beauty to your home for many years to come.

My parents lived in a little Quonset hut village in the early 1950s on a college campus in the Midwest. It was housing for young families and married students. They made life-long friends there. Carpeting remains a popular flooring option for finished basements because of its warmth underfoot. As long as the basement is moisture-free, carpet is a practical option for many homeowners. The cost of carpet and padding varies widely, depending on quality. The Indian Summer Lodge in Houston is a quirky Quonset hut that has been featured in Playboy …

Bathroom Remodeling Long Island NY

Built-in linen cabinet in the hallway was built with this older cottage. New paint and hardware freshened it up.

Everything has gone well. It has taken longer than planned, but the final product is worth it. Some of the reasons for the length of the project seemed to be with materials that were ordered not enough wrong item. Part has to do with us being so picky. But when you pay $14,000 you want it as perfect as you can get it. Tony has been so positive with us. I cannot sing his praises enough.

Things were going along smoothly, until the final section of the hallway wall where we were installing the wainscoting. We found as we began placing the picture frames on that particular wall, that it was bowed. Apparently the stud in the center of that wall section had moved a bit as the house settled. Unfortunately, …

DIY Home Improvements

Through failure we learn to succeed! This is a blog about fighting back. It’s about picking yourself up off the floor, dusting yourself off, and getting right back in there. It’s about holding yourself accountable, having the right mindset, and learning to live a healthy lifestyle.

The expense comes if the glass is for a table top (coffee table) where the edges will need to be bevelled smooth for safety and visual effect; for shelving it’s not necessary as the straight cut is safe enough and visually ok. If you’re having the glass cut to size, or you’re cutting your own plate glass, for a protective surface for a coffee table you shouldn’t put the glass straight onto the wood. It should be supported with little rubber feet; which are readily available in most DIY stores and have a sticky back surface to stick in each corner on the underside …

Begin & end your day in a beautifully remodeled space. One Week Bath is a custom bathroom remodeling company serving Los Angeles, Orange County, Ventura County, and all of Southern California. Our business model is not just about speed… it’s about the art of designing and building your dream bathroom.

If for any reason I need a small piece of glass for glass shelving or as a protective surface for a coffee table and I don’t have any suitable glass available I’ll nip up to the local glazier to get the glass cut to size. Ordinary glass isn’t suitable for these purposes as its too brittle and fragile; for these projects I use plate glass with is very durable and safe. If I do need to buy plate glass for these it’s not expensive and can be cut on the spot while you wait.

How To Redesign Your Bathroom On A Budget

Learn the history of coffee as well as the history of the coffee house. Tips to make better coffee and descriptions of different styles of coffee pots.

Or do what I did—shop online. I admit being apprehensive about buying the centerpiece to our bathroom based on pictures and a written description, but I liked what I saw, including the price. I saved several hundred dollars compared with what home centers were charging and got attractive, top-quality products. A 48-inch-wide vanity, marble top, undermount sink, and framed mirror cost us $1300.

As a rule of thumb, artwork should be placed no more than five to nine inches above a sofa and no more than seven to ten inches above a table. The placement of your artwork should also relate to its surroundings. As a guideline for proportion, one or more pictures (including mirrors or other wall décor) should cover about 2/3 …

How To Install A New Showerhead (2)

It’s really a pain to blog from my cell phone and my part 1 post a few days ago was really incomplete. Here’s to a sleepless night – I’ve been up for hours – and a couple of hours to do a little blogging.

Things to Remember: In addition to the look and costs, also consider their practicality when you buy them. For example, if you have young children or seniors in your home, try to choose faucets that are easy for small or arthritic hands to handle. I was in shock that it was different shades of blue, and that one of those shades was the SAME as my wall color!

Next, we built a platform for the shelving units to sit on, so that the bottom of the glass doors would sit just above the top of the baseboards. Our IKEA finds slid into place, fitting perfectly between …

Budget Bathroom Remodel II

This guide is intended to give you an overview of the permitting process for a bathroom remodel. If your project only involves replacing (like-for-like) exisiting cabinets, countertops, flooring, plumbing and/or electrical fixtures, you do not need a permit.

I emailed you awhile back about being featured on (where I work with Cassity scheduling guest features). I haven’t heard back, so I just thought I would drop you a line here in case my email got stuck in the spam filter. If you’re interested in being featured, will you drop me a line at hello@? Thanks! What a drool-worthy bathroom! Love the light fixtures, the tile, the mirrored cabinets beside the vanity. Gorgeous!

As for a theme: Well, if you have a favorite interest or hobby you can add it to the walls via pictures, or reflect this in well chosen accessories, such as a toothbrush holder, soap dish and trash …
