You don’t have to be a professional interior decorator to understand and apply some basic principles of interior design that will help you create a comfortable and functional home with style.
If your white bathtub is not so white anymore, simply fill it up with water, add about half cup of bleach (or more if your tub is huge and hopelessly dirty), then let it sit overnight. The next morning your tub will be white and shiny again. If your toilet bowl is plastered with murky stains that are so impossible to scrub off, sprinkle half cup of baking soda all over it, wait about 5 minutes, then pour in half cup of white vinegar. Allow the baking soda and vinegar to work on the stains for about 15 – 30 minutes, then scrub and flush.
All the shelves and shelf dividers was recycled laminated chipboard reclaimed from an old wardrobe that somebody didn’t want and offered to give me rather than just chuck it away. Because I wanted this unit full height from wall to ceiling I had to buy a long piece of contiboard to match, but contiboard (laminated chipboard) is quite cheap to buy so it didn’t cost me much to make the whole unit.
Soaking or garden tubs are deeper than conventional bathtubs, allowing the bather to immerse almost completely in the water. Walk-in tubs may be an especially good idea if you’re remodeling a bathroom to include safety features for an older resident or someone with limited mobility. Whirlpool or Jacuzzi-style tubs feature multiple nozzles throughout the tub, which can provide a massaging effect.
The only solution available was to hire contractors to do the work. While this proved to be an excellent answer regarding the lack of knowledge, it didn’t save the homeowners any money. In many cases it ended up costing them more than they had bargained for when the contractor they hired ended up doing a sub-par job and they had to engage the services of another company to come and fix the problem.
