Bathroom Remodel Complete

Our house is an old 1950’s farmhouse. This bathroom and our bedroom were added sometime after 1950 and before we bought it in 2004. In 2011, we made the bedroom look original to the house and now it’s the bathroom’s turn.

The cabin bed was a shop bought bed unit, which came in kit form, that’s made from standard contiboard for the sides and cupboards and a high density flooring grade chipboard for mattress base. Originally the cabin bed was freestanding, however with major modifications to the interior and back I converted it into a fitted cabin bed unit. Part of the modification was to make a headboard from some scrap plywood, faced with furniture foam and upholstered with some furniture fabric which I salvaged from an old sofa. The cabin bed was then set just over six inches (150mm) away from the back wall to accommodate the fitted bookcase …

Denver Bathroom Remodeling Services (2)

Bathroom remodeling is one of the best investments you can make in your home. With bathroom remodels, along with kitchen upgrades, you’ll get the largest return for your investment, according to real estate experts. People view bathrooms differently than they used to. Many of today’s bathrooms are elegant, beautiful rooms that are also extremely functional and relaxing. Many are more like a home spa than they are like just a little room needed only for the most basic physical necessities. One of the focal points of any bathroom remodeling project is bathroom sinks and vanities.

Those who do a lot of cooking in the kitchen are bound to spill some things on their tile floor. Stains show up much easier on tile floors that are light in color. Dark color tiles can keep the floor looking cleaner, although darker tiles show more dust than lighter tiles. At first I wasn’t …

Modern With A Vintage Touch Bathroom Remodel

As one of the most used rooms in your house, it’s important to remember that a bathroom’s design can significantly contribute to the resell value of a home. When renovating a bathroom, you should keep in mind the needs of your family as well as those of future buyers. For instance, while you may not feel the need to include a tub, some homeowners do see this as a necessity. So, it’s still wise to install at least one in the house.

First, are you also replacing the shower arm? You need to replace the shower arm first. Go to the bottom of this article to see how. But with a bathroom renovation, you want to be careful about getting in over your head, especially if your home has only one bathroom. Luxury Bathroom Remodel

The shower curtains on the porch need to go. I am not trying for it, but it looks like a quaint little house. I enlarged it to get a really good look, and it looks like it would only be suitable for a small family. It is so difficult to see what a house is really like without seeing the inside. I am unfamiliar with the HGTV homes, but the concept interests me. Thanks for the question.

There are 3 major limitations which really make size matter in bathroom renovation: the overall size of the bathroom (usually the smallest room in the house), the location of existing plumbing pipes and electrical wiring and the typical standard dimensions of bathroom fixtures. Therefore make sure you have the correct measurements and specifications when you go to the store. More frustrating than trying to shop without measurements is to end up purchasing stuff …

Just A Little Bathroom Remodel

I turned my attention to painting the new headboard that Ron had built for me as a Christmas present. I used Annie Sloan chalk paint, added a touch of dark finishing wax to the moldings and finished it off with the Annie Sloan wax. (did I mention that Joy ate the very expensive wax brush that I had splurged on???-I ended up using an old t-shirt instead and it worked just fine).

First, the contractor needs to make sure that he has enough money in the contract to cover mistakes, Now, I know what you’re thinking: They should pay for their own mistakes” and that’s true to a certain extent, but people aren’t perfect and they’ll make mistakes, so a businessman has to compensate for it. As a result, they mark up the material about 10 to 20 percent to cover for any little mistakes that may happen. They also …

The bathroom was long and cramped, about 5′ wide by 11′ long, with the window facing out over the back of the house. The entrance was at the other end of the narrow room. The tub sat lengthwise in the center of one wall, a floor-to-ceiling sidewall at each end of it, and the attic access opposite. The toilet and sink sat almost facing each other in the window end of the room.

Much of what you decide to take on during your bathroom renovation work should depend on your future plans. If you plan on moving out of your home in the next five to seven years, a modest project that updates …

The 80’s Wants Their Bathroom Back Is Finished! (2)

Today I’m sharing with you a bathroom remodel!! This guest bathroom is actually at my Parents’ house… they did all of the work themselves.

The new faucet was off the rack. It wasn’t top quality, and therefore lower priced. I also found it on sale at Home Depot The pull out mirror was about $5 at Ikea , and the medicine cabinet hinges were off-the-rack hardware store purchases, that just happened to match the originals! I found the light fixture on clearance at Restoration Hardware , and was able to get it for a very reasonable price. It pays to keep an eye on sales, and not be too picky!

This was an instructional video for a DIY wainscoting project. This was another option we considered. We decided we preferred a different look for our project, but some may find this to their liking. We weren’t sure about our ability …

Bathroom Remodel Cost Estimator

The above figures place the bathroom update at $250 per square foot. This pricing structure assumes that carpenters charge an average of $70 per hour, electricians between $65 to $85 per hour, painters between $20 and $35 per hour and plumbers between $45 and $65 per hour.

Speaking of reusing – even though we couldn’t reuse the tile, I was lucky enough to find a pedestal sink and medicine cabinet that exactly match the existing sink and cabinet we currently have, for $238. I got so lucky! Just think if I couldn’t find a matching sink and medicine cabinet to complete the look we are going for?! We’d be spending at least $400 for four new pieces.

So after water damage that occured in early September, after dealing with the insurance company, and after many months of hard work, our master bath was ready for us to use in late …

Creating A Pretty Cottage Bathroom

We installed carrera marble subway tile four feet up on the walls and carrera marble hex tile for the floor. We then put the original wood planks that we discovered under the drywall back on the walls.

We received a price of $30,000 to completely redo our medium sized bathroom!!! We’re redoing our whole house and every room was $30,000. This is a well-built 2000+ sq. ft. 40 year old ranch, not a tear down. My husband remodeled our 1/2 bath and it cost us under $2000 using high end materials. We are redoing the laundry room, the mud room and the sun room. Altogether the contractor said it would cost between $175,000 & $200,000 for the rest of the home. Outrageous. We’re looking for a more reasonable contractor in Michigan. This website was very helpful.

The new built in Welsh Dresser replaced old bookshelf’s above an existing built-in cupboard. …
